I am using Aieres for attendance and am having a hard time figuring out the easiest way to go about doing this.
can anyone tell me if they use Aeries and how it works?

Hi Dina, I used the Aieres system for a couple of years at one of my school sites. The district used that software for all of its data, in afterschool we used it for data collection and retrieval of other regular school day records? What seems to be the issue your having with inputing attendance?

It is not inputting attendance, it is just that with high School you have students that come one day and not the next - so trying to keep it all updated is pretty difficult.

In middle school programs I had the same experience with respect to kids coming sporadically. It sounds to me from what I'm gathering at least that your issue is less about the software and more involved with tracking and recording participants. But, I should also say that I used the regular day attendance system to generate daily reports to confirm who was absent from the regular day in an effort to combat a trend of kids skipping school but showing up afterschool. Similarly, I would want to know who was at school so that I might cross reference it with my list of absences from program. I would notify the parents of kids who didn't show up the required three days a week. That way I could be more proactive in keeping kids accountable for showing up. Anyway, just a few thoughts...I'm curious though, out in CJUSD do you report ASP attendance to the DO via Aeries? I'm not used to seeing sites where reg. day and afterschool use the same database or technology. Good Times
